Houndstooth Chair Reveal: An Ugly 90s Chair Becomes Classic

Some things have good bones.  When my mom offered up her old table and chairs, I knew it was the right move.  Solid wood.  No debt.  High-potential furniture.

I definitely had a Pottery Barn farm table in a dark color in mind, so this blonde oak with leafy patterned seat covers really drove me crazy, until...

A little houndstooth totally updated my dining room table and chairs from being 90s blah to a classic.  This is the best part- the fabric was on clearance at Hobby Lobby, so I bought the last 4 yards for $7!

I might still get around to painting the table black since it is really worn, but don't forget I'm also in the middle of a Bedroom DIY.  I plan on taking an 80s dresser of the WORST kind to boho chic.  Believe it or not! Don't give up on the potential of your hand-me-downs!

Speaking of makeovers... my blog design is getting an overhaul.  I can't wait to reveal the new blog!

Here's to your next project! Visit Miss Mustard SeedRedoux, Too Much Time On My Hands, or Tater Tots & Jello if you need more inspiration!

Too Much Time On My Hands

  1. That chair looks awesome. I love the color - I want to find a new purse that is a mustard color like that!

    1. Thanks, Jenn! I don't know if you have ever been to the Dallas Fort WOrth area, but Sam Moon is THE purse place, and I think you can order on their website now.

  2. This looks fantastic! Love the colors together. Pinned and G+'d you. Great job!

    1. Thank you, Vivienne. I'm glad you like it. Thanks for sharing!
