Distressed Letter Decor

Of all the wooden letters I have painted, this is my favorite! I haven't found a home for it yet, so I just snapped a picture of it on my book page background so I could share it with you.

This is what it looked like when I bought it from the craft store.  It matched the craft paper perfectly.  And after 2 coats of duck egg blue paint, it looked like this...

I also used some metallic acrylic paint in copper to add a few streaks for a little more depth.  After it dried, I used some dark soft wax to stain it.  I did two coats, letting it dry in between.

I might rearrange my gallery wall so that it has a new home.  I think it will match the Ferris Wheel art nicely.  Maybe it's time to make a mantle around my flat screen TV in the living room.  Oh the possibilities! Do you have any initials hanging up in your house? I'd love if you'd let me know in the comments!
